Well, 30 days and counting! We have had a real busy season wth our regular business this year, lots of weddings and performances; and are thankful for that!

We appreciate your prayers, and want to pass along a few prayer requests:

Please continue to pray for our team, 2 young men dropped off, and this will create a slight gap as they were to be doing construction mostly.

The call is still upon us and once again David and I are privileged to be a part of a 21-member team traveling to Kenya this July—with one exciting addition—our daughter, Chelsea will be joining us this time!

It’s been two years since our last trip and the exciting things God is doing through Build the Village are almost too many to tell! Churches have been established all across the Nandi Hills Region, Discipleship courses have touched many lives, and the Theological school has seen it’s first set of graduates this past year. Perhaps the most exciting news of all is the establishment of the first “Village Hub” in the village of Choimim where a church has been built and dedicated, a clean-water well has been opened, the preschool is up and running with it’s first class of students and the finishing touches are being put on the orphanage as of this letter. These are certainly exciting times to see God’s hand at work touching lives in real and profound ways with the living Gospel of Jesus Christ. Continue Reading »

We have been blessed with the opportunity to assist IMB Missionaries Charles and Sandra Daniels, in Samburu, Kenya set up their website to keep their prayer partners and supporters connected with their work in Kenya. Visit the new Samburu website here.

Lorretta and I were able to be part of a Missions Team from First Baptist Church of Waynesboro in July of 2005. We put together a promotional video (see below!) to help promote the work of Build The Village, the organization our church partnered with.

We have been known Rev. Gordon and Beth Taylor for several years now, and have enjoyed working with their ministry efforts. Beth and Gordon are missionaries in Northern India working with the Children’s Home Ministries. They are missionaries with Mission to the World. The Children’s Home Ministries was started in 1945 by Gordon’s parents Drs. John and Elizabeth Taylor, as a school for children of the leprous community. There are now 4 schools that house over 900 children. Gordon and Beth are now retired; but travel back to India regularly, as well as throughout the US to share what God is doing in India.

The above photographs are from a Mission trip this past January (2003). MorningStar Media was a part of a Missions Team with Snellville Christian Church traveling to Northern Kenya. While there, they visited Kip and Katy Lines, and produced a video promoting their work there. They are missionaries with CMF International, and work with the Turkana. Learn more about Kip and Katy’s work at www.ejoka.com and… see the video here, and many more of the sights and sounds on their web site! Would you like a copy to share with your church? Please write us!

David first visited Africa in 1985 with Africa Christian Training Institute (currently Reconciliation Ministries Network – RMNi). That was a short term mission trip in Uganda. He went with a group of students from Covenant College, where he was a student at the time. “The trip totally changed my worldview, and really my life as well. I was totally hooked on Africa, even changing my major to Anthrology.” David StembridgeDavid with Pastor Baker Katende and friends on a mountain near Mbale, Uganda. Pastor Katende now pastors Global Evangelical Church near Boston, Massachusetts.
